My MOST USED Cheats In The Sims 3

It's not that I can't play the game honestly, without cheats, as a matter of fact, I do enjoy playing a nice game with no cheat codes, or very minimal  cheat codes often. But I also often like to play as a ridiculously rich family at the start of the game. Or I like to get objects from that can't normally be bought in buy mode without having to acquire them on my own. Sometimes it's even just the fact that I need to reset a stuck sim.. or remove an annoying sim from the area. I also have cheaty types of mods such as Twallan's Master Controller with the Cheats component to do things that I can't do with EA cheats. However, I know that not everyone likes to put mods in their game, but would still like to use some cheaty ways to advance quicker. ;)

These are my most used, and favorite cheats that are included with the game, and do not require mods or third party content. Most of these also do not require expansion packs, unless the function calls for a specific expansion pack:

-Motherlode: Adds §50,000 to the active household family funds.

-ResetSim <First Name, Last Name>: Resets sim and returns them to a safe location on their home lot. This cheat comes in handy when a sim gets stuck so that you don't need to return to exit the game without saving and lose your progress to get the sim unstuck. I Also like to use this to remove annoying sims from a lot (i.e. Crying toddlers, paparazzi, sims that get in my way, ect.)

-UnlockOutfits On: Unlocks service and career outfits for everyday wear. You must enter this before going into create a sim

-MoveObjects On: Allows you to place objects anywhere on the lot, regardless of other objects, walls, roofs, or location limitations. Be careful that you don't block objects that you want your sims to use and leave enough room for them to get to them.

-FullScreen On/Off: Switches between full-screen and window mode.

-TestingCheatsEnabled True: This cheat unlocks a wide variety of other cheats to use for the game. This cheat is very complex and has many uses. With this cheat you can:
  • drag the relationship bar up or down to change the relationship between sims.
  • Shift-Click on the mailbox to make needs static (automatically fills all sims needs fully, and they don't decrease), make your sim know everyone, or have it make random friends for you. You can also assign a career and then select career level, force an NPC service sim or visitor, using the mailbox menu.
  • Shift-Click on the ground on any lot to teleport there, build/buy there (even on other lots), or to change the weather ( weather options require the Seasons expansion pack)
  • Shift-Click on a sim to change their traits, favorites, and celebrity level (Celebrity level requires Late Night). You can also use this to age them up manually.
The following cheats require TestingCheatsEnabled:

-BuyDeBug On: Adds a DeBug category to buy mode and features insect and rock spawners, harvestable plants, and other objects available in the game that aren't obtainable through normal buy mode such as inventions, relics, and many other objects from all installedexpansion packs.

-FamilyFunds <Household Name> <Amount>: Gives the specified household the specified amount of simoleons. This personally is my favorite money cheat over MotherLode because it can add more money quicker. You can not exceed §99,999,999.

-RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings False: Allows for editing of public rooms in high-rise buildings.

-EnableLotLocking True/False: Allows you to lock and unlock buildings for editing

These are just these cheats that I use most often, these are not ALL of the cheats. These are just the ones that I find work best for my gameplay. Please feel free to leave your favorite cheats on this post as well. You can find other cheats available in the game by use the cheat: help, to bring up a list of other cheats.

Welcome

Back in Christmas of 2009, there was a present under the tree, wrapped in packing tape. My step-dad tends to use WAY to much tape on his presents to me, LOL. After 5 minutes I finally managed to get the wrapping off the box. I opened the box only to discover, there was another box wrapped in packing tape. I was not allowed to use scissors or anything to cut through the tape, so I spent another 5 minutes removing the tape from that box. Eventually, I got down to the last wrapped, DVD box looking package. At first I thought that it was a movie, but as a I removed the wrapping I saw that it was in fact, not a movie. It was.. The Sims 3! After thanking my step-dad for the amazing gift, I instantly ran up to my room to play it. Not caring much for my other presents at the moment. I almost face-planted into my door because I was running with excitement. I was then a (noob) simmer!

And a noob I was, as most players when they first start to play a game. Freaking out because the sims didn't speak English and I could not understand what they were saying, when it turns out that they were speaking their own language, Simlish, and what they're saying can be left up to interpretation. Then I was wishing that objects, flooring, and walls came in more colors, when colors and patterns can indeed be very much customized in create-a-style. You can even find tons of additional content with a while different look, without using Sim Points, by going to custom content sites. You can even alter gameplay with mods! Just be careful what mods you use, and be sure to update or remove them when you update the game.

Over the years, as I learned more and more about the basics of the game, I started to find a few other cool things that you can do in the game. I also found some really great mods that have given me what I wanted since I began playing the game. And I have often thought of sharing these little tips and tricks with the world, as well as a few little bits from my own gameplay, and my opinions on some of the things in the game. I considered sharing my Sims tips and tricks on my teen lifestyle blog, but then I figured that it may not have been the greatest idea to merge gaming with teen life, so I created a second blog for sims. As well as maybe a few iPhone games from time to time, but these will be few and far between.

At this time, I will not be creating custom content, or uploading any custom content to this blog. However, I will link to other simmers custom content sites that I like, but I won't upload their work. I will also post information on my favorite mods, and how I use them. Links to that mod will be given, as well as full credit to the creator. Also note that this is not an information blog about future games, but I will review the games and content that I buy, as well as share some tips and tricks from them.

I hope you all enjoy this blog! And I hope to improve in the future. :)
